Loose ends

I'm including this page just to be accurate.
Interesting?
I doubt it.

Last August 2010 I  was in Hong Kong trying to get the video of the airport incident from the Korean Government. They had never before released security footage from Incheon Airport to a foreign national, let alone an ordinary citizen. I have to thank them for eventually providing a few minutes of video of the start of the event. It took a few weeks, but with this footage proving I was innocent, indeed a victim, and with the prosecutor's office assuring me that they wanted to see the video to clear things up, I booked a flight and headed back to the U.S.

Well the prosecutor lied about their willingness to view the video, they never looked at it despite its relevance. I was arrested at the airport which is pretty humiliating.
But I don't want to rehash this, it's all documented in the rest of this blog.

Back to the topic at hand; I had a court date in Superior Court before Judge Casey during the time I was working on getting the video footage. Proving my innocence took priority, and so I missed the court date...or so I thought.

It seems that my Mother hired Brent Normoyle, an attorney here in Olympia Washington, since she had interest, as my son's grandmother, in maintaining contact. Brent apparently argued not just for my mother under my case number, but also my case, though I certainly didn't authorize this. He had done some minor filings with the court, which he had permission to do, but on August 16th he filed a withdrawal notice (see below) and sent me a copy.
That was the last I heard from him, until after the case on August 19th when I heard that "I didn't do too well"

The point is that he wasn't authorized, and did not present any evidence in my defense, so I'm sure I looked like...well I don't even want to think about it.

I am presenting this for completeness, so nobody can say that I left out something significant.
This would not have changed anything about my rights in the criminal case, and if I were allowed to file motions, the courts, and especially Judge Casey, would have known. It certainly has nothing to do with the family court decisions which happened well before this minor anomaly.

Paul Battan did use the Casey case to prevent any negative repercussions in Thurston County Family Court happening to my ex-wife's protected custody, by using the legal argument of "Double Jeopardy" which every attorney has pointed out to me, does not apply in a non-criminal court such as family court, which Judge Casey was sitting on the bench for that day.
